Description: The Kiel Institute for World Economy is pleased to announce that the 14th Nordic Conference on Behavioral and Experimental Economics will be hosted in Kiel on the 27-28 September 2019. The Nordic Conference on Behavioral and Experimental Economics (NCBEE) is a conference series that has been created with the goal of bringing Scandinavian scholars together with scholars from other countries to promote exchange and discussions. Our conference this year wants to add an additional interdisciplinary exchange by opening the conference to (social-) psychologists and all social scientists. We believe that this exchange of perspectives is fruitful because there exists a clear similarity of interests across disciplines, for instance on topics such as cooperation and trust. We therefore believe that the understanding of many topics can be increased through this inter-disciplinary exchange. We are honored to have as keynote speakers Paul van Lange, from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Ingvild Almås, from the Institute for International Economic Studies (IIES) and the FAIR Center of Excellence, NHH, Manfred Milinski from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology and Kiel University, and Jonathan de Quidt, from the Institute for International Economic Studies (IIES), CESifo, and CAGE. We encourage submissions of behavioral and experimental papers coming from all branches of economics, including, but not limited to: game theory, risk and uncertainty, economics and ethics, labor markets, environmental economics, economic development, health, and management and we also encourage submissions of behavioral and experimental papers from all social sciences. Please submit your extended abstract until the 1st of May, 2019. You find more information about the conference on our website. To contact the organizers, just write at: 14NCBEE@ifw-kiel.de We hope to see you in Kiel! Lena Detlefsen, on behalf of the organizing committee

Description: Masaryk University Experimental Economics Laboratory (MUEEL) was established in Autumn 2015 as a result of several years of research activities in the area of Experimental Economics. In November 2016, MUEEL transformed from a free group of academics at the Faculty of Economics and Administration into an established research institute of the faculty. In October 2017, we opened two state-of-the-art laboratories. MUEEL consists of two laboratories with up to 44 work stations (24 + 20) and is equipped with standard experimental software. We use a unique solution of movable dividers between the cubicles to allow various approaches to research and other activities.

Description: The 89th Annual Meetings of the Southern Economic Association will be held at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale, FL on November 23-25 (Saturday-Monday), 2019. The link to the conference website is: https://www.southerneconomic.org/conference/ I invite everyone interested in presenting a paper in the ESA sessions at the SEAs to send me a title plus the following information for each author (the affiliation and email address for each author is particularly important – the system will not let me add someone without that information): Name Institutional affiliation Address Telephone number FAX number Email address Please email your submission to me at firstname.lastname@example.org by FRIDAY, APRIL 5th. I know that’s early, but unfortunately my deadline is April 12th. If you submit your presentation to me you do not need to submit through the general SEA website. We have been running sessions at the SEA meetings without discussants for a few years now. In general this has worked well so I am going to continue with a default setting of no discussants. As a reminder, all participants are expected to pay standard conference registration fees, although the paper submission fee is waived for those who submit directly to me as part of the ESA sessions. For those of you who have never attended the SEA meetings, typically a large number of experimental sessions are on the program (last year we had 15 with ESA as the affiliate organization, and I know there were independent sessions that individuals submitted) and the meetings are normally well attended. I look forward to seeing you in Fort Lauderdale in November for what promises to be another successful conference. Best, Artie Zillante
